Allison graduated magna cum laude from Georgia State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She also graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2013.
Prior to law school, Allison was the lead paralegal at a general practice law firm where she worked primarily on Bankruptcy cases and business matters. During law school, she was a Notes Editor on the Journal of Intellectual Property Law; served as the Immigration Chair for her law school’s chapter of the American Constitution Society; studied Comparative Corporate Law in Sydney, Australia; and participated in a D.C. Semester in Practice. During law school, Allison also clerked at an immigration law firm and a general practice law firm, where she gained litigation and family law experience.
While in D.C., Allison was a legal extern at the Department of Justice, Civil Division – Office of Immigration Litigation (OIL). There, she was involved in legal research, drafting motions and appellate briefs, and oral advocacy.
She has drafted demand letters, contracts, complaints, interrogatories, responses, requests for production, and child support worksheets, among other legal documents. Allison has extensive experience in both family-based and employment-based immigration, as well as asylum law.
Since law school, Allison completed a lobbying clerkship with Troutman Sanders, LLP in Atlanta, GA and has assisted attorneys throughout California with immigration matters, such as visa applications, responses to Requests for Evidence, and briefs to be filed with the BIA. Allison is admitted to practice law in California and resides in San Diego, where she enjoys hiking, traveling, and learning new languages.
