Ashlei earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American Studies from UCLA and her Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law. During law school, Ashlei spent a semester as a judicial extern to the Honorable Dale S. Fischer of the District Court for the Central District of California. She worked at Oyler & Woldman, a family law practice, during the summers following her first and third years. During the summer, following her second year, she worked at Lederer, Nojima, Tagliaferro, LoPresti & Blakely, LLP, a personal injury practice. Ashlei is licensed to practice in California.

While awaiting her bar results, Ashlei worked as a contract attorney for Carlton, DiSante & Freudenberger, LLP, an employment and labor law firm. There, she conducted interviews of putative class action members and drafted declarations pertaining to wages, overtime and double time compensation, accrued vacation, reporting time wages, split shift wages, breaks, and time-keeping.

Ashlei practiced antitrust and consumer protection litigation for nearly three years in San Francisco as an associate with Pearson, Simon & Warshaw, LLP, a small plaintiffs’ firm. During that time, she gained experience drafting complaints, briefs, motions, memoranda, and discovery, predominantly in federal court. Ashlei also was responsible for all filings with the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation.

Ashlei then took time off from the law to stay at home with her young children. During that time, she was an independent contractor analyst for STEELE Compliance and Investigation Services, a provider of global crisis and risk management services. Ashlei performed online research and drafted business reports for corporate clients pertaining to prospective overseas partners, vendors, and distribution companies.
